According to the recent studies by Sallie Mae, use of credit cards by college students grew last year, despite the harsh credit conditions in financial spheres. Students charged over $2,200 for direct education expenses, compared to only $942 in 2004. Over 90% of undergraduate students paid for textbooks and school supplies with their student credit cards, which may put a lot of them at risk of overpaying for college.
