Guys I'm confused! Rolling Eyes
Very often I recieve American Express Green Card promotional offers by mail. Is it a good card?
I've heard that is not like real credit card, it is more like a charge card because it needs to be payed off at the end of the month.
I don't have any American express cards, but i wish to get one.
Can anybody help me to find out if AMEX Reards Green Card is a good start to begin relationship with American Express?

Thanks.

i don't know much about this card. but it looks like it has an annual fee of up to $90. plus, you are right, this is a charge card. i don't think this is the way to start with amex cards. try something like blue cash or clear.

What kind of credit do you have. To get a card like that you probably need an excellent credit.

RamondV, I recently have Chase Platinum and Bank of America Credit Cards. I think I have more than good credit. I did not think that they offer AMEX Green Card to folks just with perfect credit. Many of my friends recieved offer for AMEX Green.
If it is just a charge card i don't think i am going apply for it, however, I'll check Blue and Clear from AMEX.

Thank you guys fro your responds. Very Happy

American Express offers both credit and charge cards. Generally speaking, it is easier to get a charge card, rather than credit card. Most of those offers will say "no preset spending limit", do not take it literally. You won't be able to spend more than what they allow you to. Plus, it is a good way to manage debt since you have to pay off the balance every month.

American Express is one of the most popular credit cards nowadays!
They have great selection of credit cards for alll categories of customers.
Well, I have to agree that most likely you will need a good credit to be approved for American Express credit card, but you always can start your relationship with American express from American Express Rewards Green card. Even though it works as a chrge card, by using it you can prove your credit ability.
Ina while you should be able to be applied for a regular AMEX credit card, like Blue Cash from AMEX.

This is the card you can start up with:

Sorry for a dumb question, but why would one get a charge card? Is it more like an electronic wallet type of deal? So one wouldn’t carry his money around or something?

I believe they have greater limits than credit cards. So it's better for business needs, especially new business.
