Partially, I agree with this statement, but there's nothing for free in this world, especially, when we talk about credit cards.
Take it more positevely, banks let us to use their money by the mean of credit cards. For spending the big amount of money they reward us because bank don't want to lose clients. They issue rewards credit cards to keep people interested in their products, and to make card holders to spend more and pay on time! |

nima,
I agree with you on some points you made, however I find it hard to believe that you can earn any substantial rewards using those rewards credit cards. I mean they basically give you about 1% of what you spend in form of rewards and perks...really need to spend lots of money to get anything back. |

Right, 1% is not much, but it's better than nothing. You spend that money anyways. Why wouldn't you get some of it back?

... and this is not a secret. It shouldn't come as a surprise that credit card companies make money on the services they provide. If one doesn't need a credit card, he or she shouldn't get it. In most cases credit cards are used for borrowing money, rather than an easy way to pay for purchases. You borrow money, you pay the juice!
Getting a credit card just to claim some rewards doesn't make much sense either, if you paying interest on the balance. Control yourself, reward yourself! |
