I've been trying to transfer some money to pokerstars.com, but they are not taking my credit cards. Does anybody know which cards are accepted at ps?

I used to play poker online. I can tell that not all gambling websites work easy with credit card deposits!
That is because many credit card companies try to block gambling related transactions, so its pretty much pot luck if your deposit goes through
Depositing and withdrawing via Credit Cards is by far the easiest poker or casino depositing method, but as i have said before, its pretty much pot luck if the deposit transaction will go through - it cant hurt to try though.

However, Credit Cards like Mastercard and Visa are used by many people who play poker online as they are very easy to obtain and use.

I played through Bodog.com. It seems that it has high rate of credit card deposits acceptance.

I kinda knew that there are problems with credit cards at any poker site. I'm just trying to find out which ones will work. By the way, what credit card did you use at BoDog?

Telling the truth, poker sites change their credit card processing companies quite often. So, all this may change in the future. If you get to transfer your money right after they change their cc processor, any card may go through.

As of now these cards are good at fulltilt

Most often for gambling online I use my City Platinum Select card. It was less problematic, transactions went smooth and fast. I lked this Master card a lot (not only fro gambling situations).
Try it and enjoy it.

Looks like Citi cards are the most liberal when it comes to being accepted at gaming / gambling sites. I wonder how they cover their risk angles with all the uncontrolable gamblers. I bet that's a big issue for credit card companies.

Ramond V,

we have looked closer into this subject and found out that gaming websites actually do change their payment gateways quite often. This gives them a chance to accept payments from a wider range of banks and credit cards (for short period of time though).

We suggest that you call the customers service of the website you are want to transfer funds to and ask them which credit card institutions allow deposits to their accounts.

That's exactly why I posted this question here Smile I tried to call the customer service. All they said was: "...we accept Visa and Mastercard". But the banks have their own restrictions.

You are absolutelly right,
For some security reasons not all credit cards will be accepted by pocker or gambling sites. However, you can find a credit card that you will be able to use.
Try to ask a question about payment policy on the web site where you play poker which credit cards they accept and then find information of restriction for yhour credit card.
I think, that City credit cards andf Bank of America credit cards would be the best choice.

As was said previously, poker sites are usually ready to take any card as long as the card issuer does not have their sites in the "ban" list. So, as you must understand, knowing which credit cards are accepted at the site will not guarantee that you credit card transaction will go through.
