I'm looking for an airline rewards card, but am having a hard time comparing them because a "mile" in rewards term doesn't seem to equal a mile traveled. Is a reward "mile" worth the same value between different credit card issuers? What is the approximate distance / cash value if so?
Thanks. |

You're absolutely right, a "mile" is not a mile.
Try to think of it more like points. Unfortunately the value of a "mile" is not consistent between bank. Whenever you comparing cards offered by the same bank they are usually the same, but not between banks. The best suggestion I'd have for you would be compare the rewards available with a fixed number of miles, say 1000, and try to assign a dollar amount yourself.
Hope this information is helpful! |

That's what, I thought, No Hassle Miles was! But they give you 1.25 points for every dollar you spend with all the benefits that you were talking about. If I cans get more points for my money and these points of the same value as points from other reward programs, then this is the best airline card for me! |

| i have heard bad things about capital one. however if you compare the features of their miles card - no hassle miles or whatever, their offers look much better than blue sky from amex. besides, amex requires almost perfect credit to get approved for their cards. |

| Thanks, Claudia. I've heard bad things about all kinds of credit cards. I guess it's normal, there's no perfect card. I was just wondering about point-value factor in choosing a card. |
